In 1995, with barely any studio skills and hardly any remix experience, I took a wild shot at remixing Sade’s “I Never Thought I’d See The Day.” Somehow, the vibe clicked — the vocals, Stuart Mathewman’s melodies, the whole atmosphere. I worked on it for three weeks in late ’94 and quietly shared it with a few friends… including Frankie Knuckles, who started playing it on radio long before anyone knew what it was, and Louie Vega, who ran it heavy at Sound Factory Bar. Then, out of nowhere, a mysterious Musk Men bootleg appeared in March ’95. I had no idea it was coming — suddenly I’m in Miami for WMC and hearing my mix everywhere: clubs, events, even on the taxi radio back to the airport. That moment changed everything; this unauthorized remix became one of my most recognized works. Today, I’m celebrating 30 years of this classic with a brand-new 2025 ReMaster — cleaner, punchier, phase-aligned, time-corrected. This 30th anniversary release includes: 2025 ReMaster Original 1995 Mix First Demo Mix Respect to the pioneers who championed it early: Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Danny Tenaglia, Hex Hector, Johnny Vicious, DJ Disciple, Danny Krivit & John Digweed. A timeless remix, reborn for a new era. Enjoy.
